a high and honorable place with its sister states associations, by making and enforcing just and honorable rules for the guidance and practice of its members, and to be ever ready to exert our best efforts to elevate the profession to which we belong.

On motion of W. C. Dodson, of Waco, seconded by Eugene J. Heiner of Houston, it was resolved - that the thanks of the association be tendered President Kane for his able address, and that the address be spread upon the minutes and published in the next annual report in full.

Moved by W. C. Dodson that the reading of the minutes of the last meeting be dispensed with, as each member of the association was in possession of a printed of the last minutes. The motion prevailed.

The report of the Executive Committee admitted the following architects as members of the association,

Subject - Professional Practice

Fellows of the Texas State Association of Architects:

Gentlemen, two years ago at the solicitation of S. A. J. Preston of Austin, representing a committee of one, appointed by the Western Association of Architects to organize a state associaiton in Texas. I went to Austin for the purpose of assisting as far as I could in said organization.

We organized with twenty acknowledged charter members; elected officers; adopted contitution and bylaws [?]. Had a very pleasant and social meeting, and altogether a general good time, and started off with flying colors. Sometime in the early part of the following season some of our members happened to meet in Bosque County. They made a move mon the enemy and captured some territyory in what I consider a professional manner. Section 2 to read after the words, "first appointed, shall be two for one year and three for two years, respectively, and their successors shall be ap-pointed for a term of two years". Adopted,

Section 3 adopted as read, section 4 so changed as to read: "All Architects who are at the time of the passage of this act members of the Texas State Association of Architects, and who shall produce a Statement to that effect under seal of the secretary of said Association.

Section 5 was amended as to read after the words: " this act and not members of the the Texas State Association of Architects, or who may desire to practice the profession of Architecture here after in the State of Texas (B). Any graduate of a University, scientific, technical College, or training School of Architecture."

Section 1.

Be it enacted by the legislature of the state of Texas:

That it shall be unlawful for any person to practice architecture within the limits of this state without first having obtained a license so to do in the manner hereafter provided.

Section 2.

The governor of this state shall within (30) thirty days from the approval of this act appoint a board of examiners of architects to be composed of five members of the Texas State Association of Architects who shall have been engaged in the honorable practice of their profession at least seven years and shall be so selected that different sections of the state shall be represented. The term of office of the members of said board first appointed shall be two for one year and three for two years respectively and their seccessors shall be appointed for a term of two years.

Section 3.

Said board of examiners of architects shall organize within sixty (60) days from the approval of this act and shall procure a seal and books of record in which all proceedings of said board shall be kept. Said records shall be kept in the archives of
