Aintab, Turkey April 18, 1895.
Hon. A. W. Terrell, Legation of the United States, Constantinople.
My Dear Sir, In response to your favor of Nov. 10th, 1894, I sent you by registered mail, my passport and all my creden- tials of American citizenship with the understanding that a new passport will be issued for myself and wife. This was either in the last week of November an or in the first of December. I have heard nothing upon the subject since that date.
I requested you, several weeks ago, to have the kindness

of informing me whether my application had been received at the Legation. To that I have received no reply.
It makes me quite anxious to feel that I have, at present, almost no protection, nor even any proof of my citizenship beyond your letter of November last.
I feel strongly that my letters must have failed to reach you. Hence I must repeat my request. Will you please to notify me, at your earliest convenience and by the safest way, just how the matters stand and whether I can expect to see my new passport at an early date.
Yours Respectfully, M. G. Papazian.
